DESCRIPTION:Church Women United of Atlanta\, Inc. will present the Human Rights Celebration Program\non Friday\, September 27\, at 7 pm on ZOOM. \nChurch Women United remember that “all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and\nrights.” (excerpt from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights\, written by the UN in 1948).\nThis has been the message of Church Women United since 1943 and will continue to be one of\nthe pillars that supports and drives the movement. \nIndividuals being honored on September 27 for their work and service in Atlanta communities\nare: \nDr. Fayron Epps – associate professor at Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of\nNursing and founder of Alter\, the only nurse-led dementia-friendly congregation program that\ncollaborates with African American faith communities\, equipping them with the necessary tools\nand resources to support families facing dementia. \nMr. Johnny “Ray” James – Head of School at the Boyce L. Ansley School in Atlanta\, a tuition-\nfree privately funded school for children experiencing homelessness. Mr. James helps to fulfill \nthe mission to break the cycle of generational poverty through collaborative family support and\na complete academic program that empowers children and families to thrive beyond their\ncircumstances.\nRev. Angela Harrington Rice – Executive Director of Interfaith Community Initiatives\, an\norganization that creates experiential programs to bring diverse people t ogether to develop\nfriendships and work together. Angela plans and provides guidance and leadership for World\nPilgrims and Immersions programs where she has led pilgrimages and traveled the world with\nJews\, Christians\, Muslims and other persons of faith.
